This report from Azim Premji University proposes creation of a National Urban Employment Guarantee Programme that would give urban residents a legal right to employment. Though it draws from the principles of MNREGA, it has a broader scope – jobs for both informal workers and educated youth, skilling for the latter etc. It report gives an outline of how the programme can be driven and funded as well.
