OpenCity.in in collaboration with Bangalore Apartments’ Federation (BAF), conducted a survey private water tankers in Bengaluru. The goal of the survey was to understand the demand for water in different parts of the city, how they are met, and where they are dependent on private tankers, how much they are paying for the service.

The survey results were covered by the media and eventually led to the State Government capping the rates of private tankers and making it mandatory for private water tankers to register with the government.

The results of the survey, as well as previous surveys in 2015 and 2019 can be accessed here. The data is owned by OpenCity.in and shared under a “Creative Commons Non-Commercial Share Alike License”. Any usage of the data should be credited to OpenCity.in and the data cannot be used for commercial purposes.
